Since almost everybody doesn’t like to wake up (early) in the morning I thought I had to do something to get me out of bed with more ease… A few years a purchased a wake-up light which just wakes you with a lamp that shines brighter and brighter until it is a 100% of brightness over a period of a half a hour. The idea is that you wake up earlier and rested. This worked for me for about a month and after that it waked me but I was very slumbered.

So I had to think of another thing to wake up easier… I came up with the idea of making the motivation of getting out of bed higher. This, I thought for me, can be done by fresh baked baguette and eggs. (more…)

Aka, A SmartAss:

This last semester I studied the minor “Embedded Systems” on my university, in this minor you learn a lot about most of the thing I count as my hobby; Electronics and programming. The minor takes a half a year and you have to do a certain project that takes about a half a year. The project I and a friend chose was a bit different, but a really cool one; The Avans Smart Assistant! (more…)

It has been some time since I posted something but i’m really busy since this is my final year of school. I have been busy for school but of course also making things! Currently i’m working on my new 3d printer, a prusa mendel and some other small projects like this one.

I do have a Ultimaker and thought I wanted to try out a heated bed because I have some trouble on bigger prints, warping etc. so I thought about it and took a standard 100x160mm pcb and designed a pattern in eagle to mill and make a heated plate/bed. I couldn’t find a heated bed designed these dimensions (since this is a standard pcb size?) Also, I could buy a heated bed, and maybe I will buy it for my mendel, but for now I just wanted to try it out. (more…)

Today I finally got the chance to show you one of my latest projects, the automation of my bedroom, a domotica  controlled room. In this post I will guide you trough the process I went through making this possible:

Well how did I managed to do that? (more…)

Today I thought it would be a good idea to make A  sd-card reader as an extension for my Ultimaker, I designed it for the newer electronics which can use the SPI pins because there is a break out to an expansion header. Because I printed a prusa mendel on my Ultimaker a few weeks ago and I’m aiming to use Ultimaker electronics for it the new printer. (more…)

Taking time back

A week ago I found this simple quarts clock and thought about the idea of making the clock turn backwards, which would be pretty easy and cool. I found this clock without a clock-face in my garage and took it apart, but when I did reversed the 2 connections to the electromagnet it still turned the right way. So I started looking for an explanation and found (more…)

Last summer I did the development of the electronics v1.1 (and v1) of the Ultimaker 3D printer. I got this opportunity because I had some connections at Protospace, and was asked to become one of the pioneers of this new design and new 3d printer. Last year in April I made myself a promise that I wanted to have a 3d printer within a year and this worked out pretty well because of the opportunity Protospace gave me! 3D printers are just super cool and a total new way of making things (at home!). Make sure you check out this awesome 3D Printer: (more…)
